This is Egyptian superstar Fifi Abdu in a scene from the 1982 Egyptian film ‘Quench the Fire‘ (Min Yotfe el Nar من يطفئ النار ) in which she has three costume changes. The film starred Lebanese singer Walid Toufik who is the singer with her. The film also starred Egyptian actresses Raghda and Athar el Hakim and screen legend Farid Shawki. The writer and director of the film was Mohamed Salman who moved to Cairo from Lebanon after receiving his degree and became a noted singer in 1950s Egyptian films. He appeared with dancers Katy, Hager Hamdi and Horeya Mohamed amongst others. He was married to fellow singer Najah Salam.
Trivia: Walid Toufik was born in Tripoli, Lebanon and had his ‘big break’ appearing on the Lebanese tv talent show ‘Studio el Fan’. He moved to Egypt and his career really took off from there.
