This is Egyptian bellydancer Dina performing at a function held in a hotel ballroom in Cairo. In this clip she’s wearing a black and gold galabeya. The female singer is Fatme Serhan.
This is a compilation of clips featuring Egyptian bellydancer Dina. Someone has replaced all the original music (including a piece featuring Fatme Serhan) by overdubbing ‘Min Habibi Ana’ (Who’s my Lover?) by Wael Kfoury and Nawal al Zoghbi.
Egyptian bellydancer Dina in a dress that takes its inspiration from the now famous (or should that be infamous?) safety pin dress designed by Gianni Versace.
Some more old footage of Egyptian bellydancer Dina performing at the Ramses Hilton in Cairo. The singer with her in the second clip is Fatme Serhan.
This is the multi-costume finale from the 1991 film ‘Baia al shay’ (The Tea Seller بائعة الشاي ) which starred Dina along with Saeed Saleh and Hussein al Sherbini. I’ve reloaded this clip as there was a glitch in it that made it freeze. Hopefully its now sorted and you’ll be able to watch it to the end.
Another scene from the 1991 film ‘Ba’ai al Shay’ (The Tea Seller بائعة الشاي) which starred Dina along with Saeed Saleh, Dounia and Hussein al Sherbini.
Dina’s co-star Saeed Saleh has said in interviews that it is “an honour for any female artists to be kissed by him, especially since his kiss is one of a kind.” He ended up trouble in 2011 when The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Egypt demanded that he be banned from tv and film etc as he had been quoted as saying “he sees nothing with people having sex before marriage as long as the two….have an agreement to get married.”
This is Egyptian bellydancer Dina performing ‘Habibi ya Eini’. The details of what film the scene is from have been lost unfortunately, does anyone know?
Trivia: The singer is Lebanon born Maya Yazbek who’s the sister of drummer Bassem Yazbek who used to be married to bellydancer Amani.
