The film tells the story of Leila, played by former child star Fayrouz, who tries to commit suicide but is saved by Ismail (Ismail Yassine).. Fayrouz would have been around 16 years old when this film was made. Some sites give her birth year as 1943 which would have made her only 14 when this film was made. Also starring were Thuraya Helmi and Reyad El Kasabgy.

Samiha Tawfik (1928-2010) is the main dancer in this scene from the 1957 film ‘Hayat Ghaneya’ . The film’s title is translated as either ‘Life of a Prostitute’ or sometimes ‘A Rich Life’ (‘rich’ as in varied). The film stars Berlanti Abdel Hamid as Houria, a girl who runs away from home to escape her abusive stepmother. She attempts suicide but is saved by Salah (Mahmoud el Meliji). Salah turns out to be a trafficker who forces her to work as a nightclub dancer. In this scene Berlanti is one of the back-up dancers to Samiha Tawfik.
Hind Rostom (1929-2011) dances in a scene from the 1957 film ‘Inta Habibi’ (You’re my Love انت حبيبي ). The film starred Farid al Atrache who’s the singer, Shadia, Abdel Salam Al Naboulsi and Zeinat Sedki. Directed by Youssef Chahine, the film tells the story of Farid and Yasmina, played by Farid el Atrach and Shadia. They can’t stand each other but are being forced by their respective families to marry though unbeknowst to their families Farid is singing in a nightclub and having an affair with a belly dancer (Rostom) while Yasmina is busy having an affair with another man. Farid and Yasmina decide to co-operate and pretend to like each other so their families will leave them alone but in the end they fall in love.
Nelly Mazloum dances in a scene from the 1957 Egyptian film ‘Ibn Hamido’ (ابن حميدو). The film starred Ismail Yassin and Ahmed Ramzi who are the two men shown sitting at the front table. Hind Rostom also starred and the support cast included Abdel Fatah al Kassri, Riad al Kasabgy, Zeinat Sedki, Tawfik al Deqn and Wedad Hamdy. The film was directed by Fatin Abdel Wahab.
