Azza Sherif (1983) عزة شريف

This scene is from the 1983 Egyptian film ‘Al Motasawel‘ (The Beggar المتسول) and features Egyptian born dancer Azza Sherif. The singer is Ahmed Adaweya. The film starred Adel Imam and Esaad Younes who play the bride and groom in this scene. The woman in the blue galabeya who tries to get up to join Azza Sherif is former dancer Hayatim who plays a leading role in the movie.
Trivia: Azza Sherif was born in 1947 and was married for several years to the Egyptian singer Katkot al Amir.

Nagwa Fouad (1982) فؤاد نجوى

This is dancer Nagwa Fouad and singer Ahmed Adaweya performing in a wedding scene from the 1982 Egyptian film “El Salakhana” (The Slaughter House السلخانة ). The movie starred Adel Adham, Mohamed Reda (the actor not the dancer) and Madiha Kamel. The bride and groom in this scene are played by Samir Sabri and Leila Hamada.

Ahmed Adaweya (1984) أحمد عدوية

The “King of Shaabi”, Egyptian singer Ahmed Adawiya, performing in a scene from the 1984 comedy film ‘Ya Rab Walad’ (Let it be a boy).  The bellydancer is not named in the credits.  The film starred Farid Shawki (فريد شوقي) as the father of three daughters who regrets not having a son to carry on the family business.  When his two eldest daughters marry he hopes their husbands will be able to help in the business but they turn out to be great disappointments.  Also starring were Karima Mokhtar, Samir Ghanem and Isaad Younis.

Zizi Mustafa with Ahmed Adaweya (1979)

Egyptian bellydancer Zizi Mustafa (زيزى مصطفى) in a scene from the 1979 film ‘Khadatni Emra`ah’ (خدعتني امراة ) which starred Hussein Fahmy, Nabila El Sayed and Mona Jaber. The male singer in this clip is a youthful Ahmed Adaweya who’s known as ‘the father of Sha’abi music’.  The song is ‘Ma Balash’.
Trivia: Ahmed Adaweya’s son, Mohammed Adaweya, is also a singer.
