Fifi Abdu is the dancer and Walid Tawfik is the singer. Together they’re in a scene from the 1984 Egyptian film ‘Qamar al Leil’ (قمر الليل) in which they both starred. The film tells the story of Imad (Tawfik) who prevents Ibtisam (Layla Olwi) from committing suicide which leads to him to Fikri (Abu Bakr Ezzat) who wants to marry a wealthy woman (Mary Fakreddine) who lost her son during the Lebanon War. Long story short Imad impersonates the missing son but it all turns out well in the end.
This is Dina who is currently the ‘top of the ladder’ bellydancer in Egypt.
The fabulous Zizi Mustafa in a scene from the 1984 comedy ‘Meen feena al harami’ (or Min fina al harami – Who amongst us is the thief?). Later in the routine she uses a cane (assaya). This film’s also known as ‘Double Trouble’ as the lead actor Adel Imam (sometimes written Emam) plays a double role as twins. One of the twins is a thief and the other a regular guy.
This is Egyptian bellydancer Mona al Said performing to the old Abdel Halim Hafez song ‘Kari’at Al Fingan’ (The Fortune Teller/The Coffee Cup Reader) and the khaleeji song ‘Wah, Wah’.
Again this is a conversion from an old video tape to mp4 with quality to match but ‘back in the day’ these VHS tapes were all there was and we had to take what we could get 🙂
Zizi Mustafa in a scene from the 1974 film ‘Al Muhim al Hob’ (Love is Important) which starred Nahed Sharif, Adel Imam and Emad Hamdy.
Keep your eye on the actor playing the part of the conductor – he’s a show on his own!
A dance scene from an Egyptian movie set in Alexandria. Any thoughts on the ID of the dancer? its not Mona Said though the style is reminiscent.
This scene is from the 1975 Egyptian film “Alo, ana al ghetta” (Hello, I’m the cat) which starred Adel Amin and Mahmoud El-Meliguy.
Bellydance legend Soheir Zaki also performs in the film and you’ll find the clips of her dance scenes on this channel.
