This is Egyptian dancer and actress Naima Akef performing in a scene from the 1949 film ‘Lahalibo’ (لهاليبو) in which she starred along with Hassan Fayek, Shukri Sarhan and Suleiman Naguib. The film was directed by Hussein Fawzi who was Naima Akef’s husband between 1953 and 1958.
Trivia: The film has also been released with the tile of ‘The Circus Girl’.

Nagwa Fouad (1960) فؤاد نجوى

Nagwa Fouad dances in a scene from the 1960 Egyptian film ‘Gharem fil Sirk’ (Love in the Circus غرام فى السيرك ) which starred Ismail Yassin, Berlanti Abdel Hamid and the ‘cute as a button’ child actor Ahmed Farhat. In this film Nagwa Fouad plays Warda, who is one half of a circus trapeze act with her husband Hassan. Hassan is played by none other than Farouk (Frank) Agrama who went on to be a famous director of horror films in the US.
Trivia: Frank Agrama was the producer of ‘Bazy-e-shance’ that starred bellydancer Nadia Gamal.

‘Has Nagwa Fouad ever danced with elephants?’ I hear you ask. Well no, you didn’t ask that at all did you, but here’s the answer in a scene from the 1960 Egyptian film ‘Gharem fil Sirk’ (Love in the Circus غرام فى السيرك ). The film starred Ismail Yassin, Berlanti Abdel Hamid, Tawfik al Deqn and child actor Ahmed Farhat who’s just as cute as a button.
In this film Nagwa Fouad plays Warda who’s part of the circus trapeze act along with her husband Hassan. Hassan’s played by none other than Farouk (Frank) Agrama who went on to be a famous director of horror films in the US.
