This is Egyptian dancer Noora. Her performances were on the same VHS tapes as those of Soheir Zaki, Fifi Abdu and Nagwa Fouad.
Another tableau by Nagwa Fouad this time she’s dressed in a green costume. The scene is from the film ‘Al Mesbah al Sahar’ (The Magic Lamp).
Nagwa Fouad’s studio performance of one of her signature pieces, ‘Ali Looz'(علي لوز ). The singers are Fayed Mohamed Fayed and Fatma Eid. If you like this music there’s a modern version produced for the Arabesque Dance Company in Canada on their CD ‘Nawaem’.
This is the second part of a performance by Egyptian bellydance legend Soheir Zaki wearing a green bedlah. The music in the first part was her signature piece known to most bellydancers as ‘Pink Lady’ and then starting this section, she moves on to the Abdel Halim Hafez song ‘Nebtedy Menein El Hekaya’. Born in Mansoura Egypt in 1944, Soheir Zaki was one of the “three great pyramids” of bellydance during the 60’s and 70’s, the others being Fifi Abdu and Nagwa Fouad.
Caveat: The quality of this video is not the best.
Born in Mansoura, Egypt in 1944, Soheir Zaki was one of the “three great pyramids” of Egyptian bellydance during the 60’s and 70’s (the others being Fifi Abdu and Nagwa Fouad). The music in this clip is simply wonderful! In English its title is usually given as ‘Pink Lady’ and it used to be available on an old cassette tape with Soheir and the pyramids on the cover. Amoura Latif says that a CD version has since been released by Beata and Horatio Cifuentes.
This performance by Egyptian born dancer Azza Sherif is a transfer from VHS video tape to digital but despite that, its one of the most inspiring and breathtaking performances ever. The title of the song is “Qalo Zini 3amil 7ala”. The song is Tunisian and was first released by a singer named Olaya.
Thanks to Badr al Asmari for the song title and information.
